Our packable lightweight riding jacket is made of 100% Polyester plain weave fabric with a water repellent finish. Urban cycling features include longer sleeves and torso, wind snap collar and reflective logo for night visibility. If you’re not quite sure what weather you may find, but want to be ready, the back pocket doubles as a stuff sack for stowing.

All-weather jacket

I already have the Champ jacket, but quickly started using it for everyday wear rather than dirty commuting. The Anza adds a few features that are better suited for commuting compared to the more stylish Champ.

The Anza is much more weather resistant (even to the point of being waterproof). It has two front pockets which the Champ lacks, the high-neck collar is great for colder temperatures, and the wind resistance is a major plus.

If you want a moderate to mild weather commuting jacket, then the Anza is the one. If you want to look good at the pub after work, then get the Champ as well!

a great jacket

got this the other week and had my first winter ride in it today. i woke up at 11pm after sleeping all day to realize A) i was late for work. B) it had been snowing all day. i had a light fleece covered bye this outstanding shell and when i saw the snow i threw on my carhartt vest. i was cold for the first 5 min or so but with it's wind resistance coupled with not letting my body heat get wisped away by time i finished the 9 mile ride to work i was sweating bullets.

on another note i almost always have to carry a bag because i always keep tools with me, luckily when i purchased the anza i also picked up a hip pouch (let us be honest, it's a fanny pack) carrying my tools, wallet, knife, and phone in the hip pouch and 2 bottles of water on my back was the most comfortable 20M loop in a long time.

and now please ban my credit card from your webstore, i buy something almost every month and i think it's becoming a problem.

Overall great jacket! defiantly recommend it

I've only had it for about a week an a half and all-ready love it just thro a thin sweat shirt or something warm and the jacket and your good to go and has soo many pocket easy to carry phones, keys, iPods, flask of whiskey ect. no air will penetrate it well worth the 80 bucks at first was skeptical because of how thin it is now just waiting to see how long it lasts.

Wear this over a wool sweater. It's all you need. Back pocket is a must. I put my cell phone or a water bottle there as I ride light. The review by Mike Pagano is moot, if he had designed this jacket to his spec, I wouldn't have purchased it. The jacket is in of itself the right stuff.

I picked up this jacket from the local Chicago Chrome shop (which rocks.)

It's been a month since I've had it, and I'm still very happy with the performance. My reasoning for the purchase was due to my using a softshell jacket on top of a wicking baselayer and mid-weight merino mid-layer. I got way too hot, too fast. The super friendly staff at the Chicago shop suggested I try this thin windbreaker instead of the soft-shell, and I'm so glad I did.

I no longer get overheated quickly, and this jacket does a pretty good job of keeping me dry (inside and out.) Water from light misting or drizzle will usually bead up and roll right off. Fit is pretty good, though I thought the fit guide was slightly deceiving. According to the fit guide, I should be wearing a small (I'm 5'8" with a 38 or 40 chest size) but when I got to the shop, the small would have been a good bit too small. So, a medium it is.

Also, mine must've been on the shelf for a little bit because mine was made in the USA. It's a little sad that these are made in China now, but I'm glad at least mine was made by an American (maybe a Californian?)

Overall, I'm super happy with it, especially with the price I paid. I'm surprised Chrome no longer makes the Champ, or a similar soft-shell. My only request is that the jacket should have proper pit zips instead of tiny little holes. I know it can't be too much to ask, because I have a Chinese knockoff Arc'teryx jacket with pit zips. Since this is a cycling minded/specific jacket, that would be a huge, huge selling point.

Otherwise, awesome. Keep it up, guys.

This is an amazing jacket and basically was my go to until I lost it in a devious HK bar. That's another story.

Love the light weight fabric used, the front pockets and lower back. Removes the wind problem of SF and Beijing no prob. Used it for some road cycling at times as well as it beats a lot of pro style apparel.

The only real downside is the button on the back pouch. It is situated directly on my spine. When I throw on a Chrome bag with a laptop or anything hard/flat in it, I have to constantly shift either my bag or jacket to relieve the irritation/pain.

A quick poll of friends who owned the same jacket and the female form also had the same issue.

Possible low cost solutions:
1. Change the button type/position: Move to the left or right and possibly add two
2. Add a small amount of padding (I usually carried an extra shirt with me to pad my bag/back contact.
3. Change to a zipper
4. Change position of the pouch. Either move it down and keep horizontal, or move it to one of the sides and make vertical. Vertical feels right to me, but you'd have the righthand/left hand problem. I'd put it on the right and say sorry to lefties.
5. Remove the back pouch and either lower the cost or increase your margins (I honestly never used it because i have a bag. Would be interesting to see the number of customers who ride with a bag and the jacket in combo and never solo).

Regardless, I plan to pick up another when back in the states. Hard to get over in the clothing manufacturing capital of the world. Go figure. Just like most of the posters, I'm a chrome fan for life. Keep up the awesome work.
