I'd been looking for a good pair of knickers for a while. The price tag was a bit prohibitive at first (most other brands are in the $60 - $100 range) but after riding them for a few hundred miles I think they're worth every penny. Great fit and feel. The only thing I'd change: a snap closure (double, even) instead of the button-and-eye for the waist. With a U-lock in the loop, the waist stretches a bit and I have to wear a belt to make sure I don't moon the people behind me.
Note: I wear a 36 waist for most jeans, and most bike brands I have to buy an XL (I'm not a skinny guy). For these pants, though, I got a better fit with the size L (since the fabric is stretchy).

These are great pants. I read a review saying that if you wear a 36W in other brands that a L would do you find and I definitely agree. Mine are a little baggy everywhere but the waist, though. I also have a pair of SWRVE pants that are a bit more form fitting and I think I'd like somewhere between these pants and the swrve pants. The U-lock loop is awesome. I just got them yesterday and, as luck would have it, it was raining so I really got to test them out and they bead the water off very well. It's nice to show up places not drenched. Bottom line: great pants that fit a little bigger so if you are in between sizes on the chart, go smaller.

So just like everyone else, I was like "$140 bones?!?! WTF?!". BUT I love heavy duty, almost urban tactical clothes. These are definitely worth the money if you spend a lot of time in the saddle and love a sleek utilitarian look and feel. If you get a nice belt that matches; I use an military riggers belt, you'll never want to take them off. The only critique I would have, is that they feel a little too spandex-y. I'd like them to have a more canvas, rough/touch, feel to them. The build quality is great and they look awesome so buy them if you have ANY interest. You won't be disappointed.

I ordered a size small and they fit me a bit loose, but I like it. Sometimes I just want to be comfy and cruise around town. Perfect for this. Love all of the pockets too. I seem to wear these instead of my vanya's quite a bit although I love those too.

You gotta make some for your bigger riders. I'm a proficient city rider and am looking for a good pair of shorts for the summer, but it's a bummer you dont make a size 40. What is this Urban Outfitters? Can we custom order a pair for us bigger dudes, I would shell some extra dollars cause these shits are sexy

Like I said. I basically live in these. It's driving my wife crazy. They are super comfortable to ride in and they breathe. Whenever I ride in Dickies on a hot day I end up dealing with "Ball Soup". With these, the Giblets stay nice and cool. I need to order a few more pair so I can wear them all time. THESE ARE THE BEST!!!

The initial price freak out is obligatory. After, you seem to realize that any type of cycling specific gear will be on the expensive side so you have to get over that. When I decided to order these I had an issue of the site telling me they had but on the check out they were sold out! This was quickly resolved with their great live customer support. The girl asked me to wait one moment while she literally went upstairs to check out the stock personally. She was then able to find me the last pair in my size(small) and tell me she would be holding them for my order! With this magnificent customer service you had already won me over.
Now for the product itself. The pants are without a doubt worth every penny. The day I received them I put them on and went for a 20mile ride and without a doubt the most comfortable ride I have had up until then. It's all about the details, from the way the pockets fall diagonally in, to the high back, and the buttons to close up the legs. These are what really make the difference. The material is phenomenal and amazingly quick drying with little to no odor after a lengthy ride. Not only do they look and feel great on the bike but I seem to have them on all the time! Not just on the bike. There are a few nit picks that I would have to make note of. First the sizing. It fits great just for some reason a small is not small enough? It's kinda loose on the waist and if I'm wearing any kind of tool with me I must wear a belt or the pants drag. I absolutely cannot wear them without a belt if I'm using my U-Lock, which brings me to point number 2. The U-Lock holder seems to be extremely flimsy and loose for holding a heavy lock. I have had the lock fly off once when I hit a pot hole when the lock was not shoved into the rear pocket. The lock does normally bounce around like crazy and is extremely uncomfortable if I don't shove it in to the back pocket or wear a belt. Either way it's wear a belt or no U-Lock or tools.
I give these knickers the 4 out of 5 because of these issues. Other than that I love this product and would recommend them to all that are interested.

I hotly debated over a couple months on these pants as forking over $140 for a pair of knickers isn't an easy decision. Rest assured, these knickers are fantastic and I am very happy with my decision. Plenty of of pockets with a nice fit. The snaps on the cuffs are also a nice touch.
As far as sizing goes, I'm 5 foot 8 inches with a 36 inch waist and big thighs. I bought a large and an XL just to be on the safe side. Side note: I own a pair of the Shotwells in an XL and they fit tight on me. After trying them both on I decided to go with the large as the XL seemed to be too loose.
After a good 12 mile ride, the pants felt great and didn't feel overly saturated (I sweat ... a lot). I am very happy with my purchase. You've got a repeat customer for certain.

I've had the Loops for over a year now and still wear them regularly for both riding and working. And they still smell great.
The stretch pockets on the front keep stuff in, the zip leg pockets are stellar, the mini u-lock loop holster works great, but the Everest fabric began pilling a few months ago, especially around the knees, thighs and crotchal region. It's not unsightly but it's something that could be improved.
That said, these are still the best shorts I've ever owned. They ride great, there's plenty of pockets for the well-stocked gadget-geek and they look cooler than culottes.

I have 2 pairs of the old "shins". Still wear them all the time, great pants...Got these for Christmas...Best ever! Hands down...there is no room for improvement. But i would have said about my old Chrome knickers too.

These loop knickers would be the best bike gear I've ever bought, though expensive they are worth the money. I wear them all the time.

These outperform any piece of cycling clothing that I've ever worn. The 4 way stretch material is ideal. They do very well in the rain and all temperatures.
I'm 6'4" and was concerned about the length. The XL fits great.

I debated numerous times on weather I should drop the money on these. So now I can confidently say... worth every penny. They are so comfortable for riding as well as just hanging around during the day/night. The amount of pockets are perfect and the added loop for my U lock is even better. Lastly guys down in the NYC shop are extremely helpful! A+ on this product!!!!!

I ordered a pair of these months ago, and I can honestly say that I have worn them every day biking to work since. The material is weather resistant, the cargo pockets are well designed (to not have stuff clanking on the legs when biking), and the high back has saved many drivers from having to see my crack when on my bike.
It's the little touches that you really start to notice after wearing these so often; the elastic part to the front pockets, the little snaps at the bottom leg opening to make them narrower, and the u-lock loop above the back left pocket. Totally useful and you can tell that care and effort was put into these - the design feels like it came from people who spend their time on bikes, not some dudes in a board room with a research and development team pitching ideas. I recently placed an order through my local bike shop for a pair of knickers and the owner ordered these for me. I thought that I specified the Shotwells (which I also own), but ended up with these. They are worth every penny that I spent on them. Only improvement that i'd make would be strengthening the loops that hold the lock holster. Thanks Chrome.
