Classic Chrome. Great looks with better function.

9/23/10 by mjung

This is my third pair of Chrome knickers. I found the sizing slightly off since i used to be a 32 medium, but it fit too large. Then I got a small, which fits perfectly even though the sizing chart suggests you have to be a 30 waist, but that could just be me. Anyways, I absolutely love them. I rode them during a downpour and it seems to be more water resistant than previous models. It also seems to have perfect stretch in the material. While riding, it would stretch so pedaling would be comfortable yet not so much that the shorts will be falling off your hips after a few days of riding. I would have liked there to be velcro cargo pockets on both sides and i wonder how the red mesh pocket liners will last over time, but knowing Chrome durability, probably quite well.

Excellent Knickers

12/26/11 by Jim

After a few unsatisfactory attempts to make my own knickers, I decided to give these a go. After an initial long ride, I'd have to say that these perform up to my standards.

With jeans or dickies, you'll still have that stitching/seam that runs in the crotch area and will put undue pressure on external bits (if you're a dude.) The nice thing about these knickers is that they have a crotch area that was designed for people who ride for extended periods of time.

They are a nylon blend, so beware that they are not extremely warm by themselves. I wear a set of polypro long underwear underneath since it's fairly cold in Chicago during the winter. From there, I use the Chrome over the calf wool socks and I'm good to go. If you really want to make it happen in ridiculously cold temperatures, I'd suggest thermal tights underneath.

The fit is excellent; I'd confirm that (for me) it was as described in the fit guide. I'm a size 33 waist, and I fit very well into the mediums. YMMV, though.

I also have a 29" inseam, so as you can imagine, these come down and cover my knee-cap entirely. That's plenty fine, as it's still high enough to not be eaten up by the crank and chain (which is why we all wear knickers anyhow.)

I don't foresee any issues with these over the long term. Like I said, the build is good, the side pocket for cellphones and other sundries is awesome, especially with the velcro close. Yet again, I'm happy to have given my business to Chrome for such a great product.

Satisfied with everything but water resistance

12/15/11 by Mike

I have to start by saying that I love these as everyday riding knickers and just hanging-out clothes. They fit great, they're well made, they look good. My only problem is that they really lack in the water resistance department. Mine only seem to bead up for about 30 seconds before they start to soak through, and I've been very fastidious with their care. Hand washing, using only tech wash, I even used a softshell proofer on them to try to get more water resistance, but to no avail.

If you just want some good quality knickers to ride around in, these are awesome. If you really care about water resistance, these are probably not for you.

Great cycling shorts.

The fit is a little skinnier than the Loop Pro, but the 4-way stretch is very comfortable and great for cycling. Wish they were made in USA, but that's ok. They are still great cycling knickers.
