This is a great day bag! It fits my work files, a change of clothes, and my 13in MacBook with room to spare! It's small enough that I can grab a drink after work without feeling like I am in the way of everyone and tough enough that it can withstand a few beer stains!

I've only using this bag for a couple of weeks, but loving it. I'm pretty cheap considering, so if I'm buying a (relatively) expensive bag, I do my homework. Bought it at the store in SoHo, and though I took almost an hour to decide, the two girls who were there were friendly, and helped me every step of the way. I had a problem deciding between the colors and the sizes. One of them recommended the medium (citizen), and I initially bought it, but exchanged it after an hour for this one. The Mini-Metro is more than enough, to fit my macbook, charger, harddrives, ipad, a few books and a 9inch u lock. Still, I might spring for the citizen on those days I need a bigger bag.
As a bag, its perfect for riding, and walking around. The belt buckle design, is perfect. It doesn't swing much by itself on the bike, but with the stabilizer, you can even run with it. Its comfy, very easy to adjust on any body size. I'm 5'8 but it fits my 6'0 and 5'2 friends well. You can go the whole day without noticing weight, since its pretty well distributed. Its completely waterproof, and it looks cool. Well, most people seem to think so. There are compartments of various sizes, but not too many. Anyway, not worried about breaking it, because of the lifetime warranty. The girl making customized bags in store even told me not bother bringing a receipt, since they back every bag forever. Good customer service should be in the product description.
Anyway cons I noticed include the loud bang when you drop the bag after releasing the buckle. Used to just dropping bags I carry on the floor, but the buckle is steel, and not only worried I'll graze the its paint, but also the floor. The other is, sometimes you'll need to organize the stuff inside your bag, since something will end up poking your back if you just throw stuff in, especially since the big compartment doesn't really have many divisions. Finally after two weeks, I'm not sure if there's a spot to place the stabilizer if you're not using other that placing in the velcro. These cons are all relatively minor and doesn't really detract much from its bag worthiness.
Used to check out north face first whenever I'm getting a bag. Now I'm pretty sure will check out chrome first for my next bag even if its not for biking. Awesome, awesome bag.

The Metro is a great little bag that stays put when you ride. You'll soon forget all those inferior bags you've been using throughout the years that slide off to the side and interrupt your cycling zen. The design and top of the line materials make it comfortable, stylish, and functional. Overall, totally worth the money.
This is, however, NOT a bag to buy if you're looking for something that gives you quick access to your gear on the go. It's a stable bag that will stay clamped shut until you've reached your destination, but trying to open it while on the road is a bitch. There are no outside pockets, the buckles are quite stiff, and the velcro flap is unwieldy if you're moving.
Also, the seatbelt buckle is more pretty than functional, as it makes a hell of a racket when it is opened. (The heavy side of the strap falls to the ground and tangles up in anything you happen to be standing near. Especially your spokes.) It is super comfortable and occasionally handy, but for the most part, it's just there to look cool.
I highly recommend this bag to commuters who travel light, students, and party riders who need a holster for their beer. I do not recommend this bag for photographers, hikers, or commuters who have to haul a lot of crap.

I received this bag as a She's-A-Bad-Mama-Jamma gift on Mother's Day. I already own the Citizen in black but found it resting on my butt. After running around the city with the Citizen, my ass and tailbone had been battered. Don't get me wrong, I love the Citizen but will probably find this size more useful for travel rather than everyday trekking.
I'm 5'5". The Mini-Metro is perfect for my frame. Despite its scaled downed size, the M-M accommodates my 15" MBP as well as a Chrome envelope pouch holding the adapter and other accessories with ample room to spare. I have the M-M in the limited spring color smoke and neon pink. Do contact the store for available colors.
I was originally given the coral and smoke combination but found the coral teetering on a pinkish tomato color; think faded red. I went to the SF store today to exchange for the smoke and neon pink. Customer service was prompt and efficient. My transaction was trouble-free. Thank you Chrome!

I originally ordered the Citzen bag for my husband and I to share. When it arrived, it was clear to us that bag was not for me. I'm 5 feet tall and the bag was GIANT on me. It wasn't going to work out.
I ended up ordering the mini in the limited edition smoke and pink. Holy freaking amazing batman.
When it arrived, it was like Christmas. I was so happy. The bag is crazy gorgeous. The link stitching is a great touch and once I got it on, I couldn't have been more happy. This bag is the perfect size for me. I am using this bag for my commute to work and even with the title "mini" it's much larger than I expected. I can fit my lunch and everything in there just fine. The construction is beautiful and heavy duty and it fits me like a dream. I couldn't be more excited.
To make things even better, the first order I made through Chrome got a bit messed up. I wa upset at first because the description of the pants I ordered said it would have a u-lock holder. When the pants arrived there wasnt one. I contacted chrome asking them if they could discount a hip bag for me. Instead they offered me a really great blanket discount on my next order. We now own chrome pants, shirts, socks, two messenger bags, two hip bags and a jacket and we couldn't be any more happy with any of it. It's all wonderful.
Thanks Chrome!

I used this bag for about 4 months now and i can tell you that it's really good.
It is really waterproof, in fact I was caught in a typhoon today (albeit for a short time) and my groceries stayed dry. Also, as long as you don't overstuff the bag it's very comfortable to carry and most of the time you won't even need the load stabilizer.
However when I have too much load in the bag it becomes very uncomfortable to use and due to it's shape it is not very comfortable to use off the bike (it has to be on your back and not to your side)
I wish it came with a sealed and padded inner laptop sleeve.

I bought this because after many years of hunting for the right bag, this was not only the best fit but *the* bag to have in the Vespa community. After seeing so many riders with one I went to check them out. I was surprised that the Mini-Metro was the smallest bag they offered. And yes, while it may lack in depth this bag is PERFECT for anyone who uses laptops, tablets and other wireless devices on the go!
This bag easily holds my 15" Vaio and has a pocket inside the flap that is just made to fit a Kindle Fire (or whatever 7" slab is your choice. Sorry Apple Fanbois: iPads are relegated to the main compartment). It also rocks a waterproof liner that does just what it says on the tin. Granted Arizona rain isn't as bad as other locales but it kept my stuff nice and dry when I did get caught riding in it. The strapping is very secure and quite fashionable as well. What can I say: As a hetro male, chrome is what passes for jewelry for me and this thing has a great look!
The price, while a bit spendy for a no-frills gearhead, is worth every penny. The only gripe I can find with it is the need to have a better way to strap a phone holder lower on the main strap. Right now, to get a basic velcro cell holder on in the right position I have to use a few velcro microphone cable ties to hold it :P But, that's hardly a damning minus.
And, for your motorcyclists, the white version reflects very well at night and the bag also has reflective stitching which helps to be seen better.

I bought this bag from a friend thinking it was the best bag ever, but what i didnt take into account that it doesnt have very much capasity. the bags design was great, i just couldnt fit all my books and binders, I think that i will invest into a Metropolis or an Ivan.

my sister got this customized with the larger part of the body black but the small strip was this limited time blue glitter. My sister LOVED it but me and my mom were spectacle. For the first few months my sister wouldn't even let me think about holding it. Then after 4 months of having it i didn't see her wearing it, so i asked "hey whatever happened to your fancy ass chrome bag". She replied "oh i don't like it anymore, you can have it if you want", I was shocked especially after it cost 120 dollars ( which is kinda a lot in my family). Since both of us thought the glitter part was ugly we decided to go back to the chi chrome shop to change the glitter part to black. Pretty soon my mom parents found out and they were PIST especially my dad (the one who paid for it). So when we went to the shop we asked the chief sewer if we could change the glitter to black, her response was basically we don't and can't , I wasn't pist cuz i figured it must be a pain in the ass to undo and redo that industrial stitching. Anyway i decided to simply cover the glitter with electric tape, now it looks the same as an all black bag. Now the quality, the quality is great, i saw a video were this dude was testing durability of the fabric and the only things that actually damaged it was a samurai sword and fire, and my rule of thumb on that is if it can survive what I can survive its worth it. I go to a LAME ass christian middle school in chi town, its good for all my books but could use more room for all the shit i carry in the winter so i wanna upgrade to citizen.

Just picked up a 2nd hand metro mini...still in fantastic condition. I comfortably filled it with St. Patty's day cheer: 8 Guinness tall-boys, mickey of Bailey's and another of whisky, a bottle of wine, my 9-inch bike lock, extra shirt, and small towel. It was a heavy load, but the bag held up, and I managed to bike comfortably about town.
Some cons: I'd say it's not made for bulky loads, and it took a bit of tetris-style packing to make all that stuff fit properly. Also, the sweat-factor is quite large. Would be nice to have the ability to extend both ends of the clip so that the bag could ride lower down your back (for extra breathability) with smaller loads.
Other than that--love the bag!

Functional, looks great, and (best of all) STAYS PUT! After two weeks of bicycle commuting, I'm ready to call my grey/black Mini Metro bag an unconditional hit. The best thing is that regardless of the load, small & light to large & bulky, this bag doesn't move AT ALL when strapped down and cinched up. It is light-years ahead of any other messenger bag I have owned. My only regret? I would have saved money in the long run if I had just bought this one first!

I have a tone of bags that i would use for work and for classes where i discuss bags for outdoor activities. when I heard of chrome bags i was chattn with my wife about them and she said, " really, another bag"?
well, I am selling all my other bags and just using chrome. It wears great...balanced perfectly and when packed full and on my back, it does not cause discomfort. Even though it is winter in utah, i rode my bike many times with it on and it does not slide.
best bag ever

I asked my friend to buy this bag for me when he went to San Francisco last year and I have been carrying it around since then. I must say that this is totally awesome. Its really roomy inside and can fit whatever I need to bring for a day.

This is by far the best messenger bag you can buy. It is 100% weatherproof and will hold up through anything. Great comfort and ergonomics as well as styling. Once you but this you will not want to ever get anything else. Enjoy!

Went and bought a mini-metro today. I have been wanting this bag for some time and finally had the time to purchase it. What made this purchase even better than the bag was the customer service. They are great! They answered all my questions and helped me pick out the perfect bag. Keep up the good work. It is hard to find that kind of service these days.

I got a Citizen for my husband, who works in an Internet startup. He can successfully (and comfortably) carry around two laptops, a sweater, and a hat in this bag. After seeing him so comfortable, and me with a conventional old leather laptop bag, I want one of these too.

This is my second Chrome bag, I have only had one other messenger bag, the Timbuk 2 and I could never quite get use to it, so I gave it a way. I was really skepticle about getting this bag; because I thought that I would not like the messenger style since I mostly carry backpacks. I think that this bag is really a great day bag. I carry my regular items, school items and work stuff everyday. I like the simplisity of the bag, clean lines and quality of the material. I wish that it had a strap on the of the flap to pick the bag up when on the floor, but this might mess up the look of the bag. I was a little disappointed when the strap that holds the laptop was not sewn correctly and the strap came loose, but I sewed it back myself, didn't feel the need to send it back to have it re-sewn. Other than that I really like the ease in swinging the bag around for easy access is smooth. Watch the buckle it will chip furniture when you throw it down, but it really is the coolest bag. I think it could get real heavy with alot of stuff in it, but I am a minimalist and if the bag is too heavy I will go back the Dually backpack that I have.

I've had my bag for about six months now, and I love it. It's been pretty much a part of me since day 1. It's been taking hiking, on planes (TSA didn't like my metal buckle), on vacation, to school, and to work. It's taken huge spills onto asphalt while commuting to work and school and hasn't taken any damage. It even looks better with some blood and dirt on it. My only warning is to watch the seams on the shoe pockets, one of mine is starting to tear away and I'll have to have that repaired, and make sure you get the right size for your intended use. Other than that, this bag is amazing.

Ordered this bag for a friend's birthday gift who'd been carrying around a ratty generic messenger bag for years. When it arrived I had second thoughts about giving it to him, I wanted to keep it for myself. I'd order one for myself now but my Timbuktu bag is only 2 years old and works fine. I'm too cheap to chuck my current bag. But I'll put it on my xmas wish list. Maybe if I'm a little more naughty my bf will buy me one. ;o) Anyways, my friend loves it, he thinks it's the coolest bag he's ever seen. He carries it everywhere, even if he doesn't need to as he says it's too cool to leave at home. He lives in France and I'm pretty sure there's no one else anywhere near him with one like it.

I bought my Mini Metro after a friend came back from the US with one and I became very jealous.
It's the perfect size for me (5'8" medium build woman) and can fit a surprising amount of stuff in there so it's great to take on day trips or grocery shopping. I've taken it with me to Barbados where it's baked in the sun and to Dominica where it's been soaked in the rain - but everything inside stays perfectly dry!
All the pockets are really handy to compartmentalise everything so I can find exactly what I want quickly. Love this bag!

i bought this bag not expecting much and it exceeded my expectations. it is the perfect size for me and probly any one who is just comuting to school or work. it is super durable and worth every penny. i would buy another one just to have a different color, there are so many. buy it you will never go back to any other brand. trust me

I've had this bag for seven years now. It lasted highschool, and junior high. And now its lasting my College years. Such a great way to spend 120$

I got this bag this summer as a birthday gift and i have absolutely loved it. I recently got back from Ireland and used it everyday. It was a great size for use as a carry on and it was great to take out to the grocery and to carry stuff through out the day. The bag fits so much stuff and I never ran out of room.

When I first got this, I had already had a Chrome Bag for a year and a half. (That one was from an event in 2007, and had been unfortunately stolen along with other precious items in my car). This one was smaller than my previous one, (which I found out was the Citizen) but nevertheless I knew the quality of the product was still there. Since I got the reversed red/black color, the buckle was black. I have to say that do not drag the buckle if it's black, since it scratches off easily. (Not entirely though). When it first came, of course, it was flat. Now at first I began to doubt whether it would hold my textbooks and notes or not, and after just a day, the bottom flattened out and the bag looked alot wider from then on. I have to say, though, flattening it back into "mint" condition is not as easy as it looks. Nevertheless, this bag has been through rain and snow, and has even taken a small dip in a river, and still the waterproof interior did not compromise. However I must say that I would suggest having the Chrome Logo located away from the Stabilizing buckle, so it doesn't get covered, and perhaps adding maybe a bit of padding and/or a place for the Stabilizer strap. All in all, an EXCELLENT bag for people who just carry books to class, and/or other misc. items.

when i got this bag it first looked amazing and it holds alot fits the back very nice as well dosnt bug at all well riding looks very well made and like it will last for a good while we will see in time mine came with a very cool drink cozy or beer cozy as most say convenient when i just stopped drinking but still awesome for other drinks and the occasional beer or 2 all i gotta say if you got the money and are serious about having a good bag go for this one

Here's another review after I used it the first time. I took it shopping and fit a Cantaloupe, two tomatoes, three broccoli Florette's,five bananas, I 1/2 pounds of green beans a six pack of Labatts blue 16oz, one roll of paper towel and a pack of two chicken breasts! And a Chrome small utility pouch that fits in the space between the water proof liner and the outer bag is Awesome! Velcro on this bag is just sweet. A if you are not a bike messenger the size of the mini metro is perfect.
8/20/11 by Dirty Red
Great SMALL bag I love it but im going to order the next size up. But I will keep the Mini Metro for SMALL stuff. Anyways still a awesome bag for about two school books and a change of attire/ six pack or shower kit.
7/19/11 by Ray Brown
I've been using the Mini-metro all summer long and it's performed without fail every single day. I was initially concerned because the bag seemed really stiff, but it loosened up just right after a few weeks of banging it around.
The construction is top notch. You never feel like your stuff isn't protected from the weather, and the secondary strap helps hold the bag snuggly to your body while riding. It fits like a glove and feels like a dream.
Keep in mind that this bag is called "mini" for a reason. It's perfect for holding my MacBook Air, a change of clothes, and a couple of books, but fitting much more into the bag makes for a tight fit. That's fine with me, since I prefer to travel light. If you're looking for a bag that can fit more, check out the Citizen bag.
Highly recommended.

Love it! I always have it on when riding and forget it's even there. Even when it's loaded with a couple six packs of Guinness on my way home stop after my ride.

Just got my bag this past week, and I have been nothing but stoked about it. The quality and design is just amazing. Everyone that has seen it has also been impressed by it.
I enjoy biking as well as free running, so i hate having a bag that moves around a lot, or jostles my stuff. I feel like I have freedom of mobility I have with this bag. It's large enough to carry my standard array of items with room to spare. It rides very well on my back. The bag also gets big points for style as well.
Just ordered a second one for my fiance since she fell in love with mine.
6/11/11 by B.J.
I've been using my mini-metro for almost a year and it's amazing. It still looks brand new. I use it to commute on my bike, get groceries, as a gym bag and when I go hiking. I like lists so here are the pro's and cons!
Pros: Superb construction. Everything feels of high quality. Good looking design. Waterproof lining. Keeps water out or ice & a 6pack cold :). Keeps your stuff dry in the rain. Multiple front pockets, one zippered (thankfully). Nicely padded shoulder strap with well thought-out adjustment system. Easy-escape seat-belt buckle closure.
Cons: It's not feather-light. That signature buckle design ads unnecessary weight (would an aluminum buckle work?) and makes it difficult to stand the bag up when empty and open. Being waterproof it does not breathe and will make you sweat. For long hiking journeys it becomes tiresome on one shoulder.
So, conclusion? Nobody's perfect. But given the incredible construction and quality of materials mixed with unmistakable design and reliable functionality this bag is worth the money and the cons.
6/8/11 by Tegan
First of this bag is amazingly well built, I've had it for about six months now and it barely shows the daily wear and tear I put it through.
Even the smallest in the line is absolutely incredible how much you can fit inside! It puts my former bags to shame.
It's my default bag on and off the bike, and honestly is the best bag I've owned. I feel like it's going to be my travel companion for a long time.
6/1/11 by Ryan
Also I am a small built guy, 5ft 3, but this has never posed as a problem, neither has it really hindered my movements, and it looks good on my back. So if you are a small built person, you know, just get this already!
6/1/11 by Ryan
Firstly I have to say, I have never been a day without my bag! I got the olive/black mini and I have to say, it really is like nothing out there!
Secondly, this bag is pretty big for it's size. I know it sounds too good to be true, but i have had two full bags of groceries in there, and although it barely could close, the velcro was strong enough to hold it together as I cycled back. The pockets are a real treat too! Not too many, not too little.
Thirdly, it is comfortable as hell to cycle with, snug and secure and never slips even on full load, which would be about 15kg on your back. The straps are comfortable and it fits to your body like it was meant to wrap around you. I have been walking around with this for one full day with cameras and other day trip stuff in my bag, and it hardly felt like it was there cos it was so nicely wrapped around me. I know ppl have complained about this not being a walking bag, but it might work for you!
It was a little uncomfortable at first, but that is because the material had to be seasoned a little, but after a week or so, you should be fine.
I usually have my MBP, charger, earphones, wallet, coin pouch, a small note book and pens in front pen slot. Also always have wet towels, my toothbrush (weird I know) and my bicycle locks in the bag. No Problemo!
I got the combo deal about 2 months back. It came with the 15" laptop sleeve, the utility pouch and the mini. This has been my best buy so far this year, and I don't think anything will top it! I highly recommend this bag if you are a day commuter, student, business person. Or if you just want to look good. :)

At first I was a little skeptical to get the mini but I already had another pack that is the size of the citizen. When I first recieved it I wanted to check out how much it could hold and I carry two laptops on a pretty regular ocasion. The bad held both 15" laptops and a college text book, and many other items in some of the smaller pockets. This bag is deceivingly big. I also through at 24 pack of Miller Lite in it and it fit perfect so great for that too. Down side: the part of the strap that goes over your shoulder should be a little bit longer because it creeps up on you and sometimes become a little uncomfortable, and as much riding as I do it would be very convenient to have a external bottle holder but completely understandable that it doesn't. All in all: The bag is great the quality is amazing. Not only are chromes bags great but among the rest of their products I have used I love them too! Give this bag a shot you'll not be disappointed.

I carry my metro everywhere! whether its a walk to school a bike ride across the city, My only problem is that I started carrying alot more for school and work. And I cant fit everything in it. But other than that durable, awesome look, all around great bag

I wanted to like this bag, i really did. It's so well constructed and looks great, but in contrast with the other 5'2-5'4 women that have reviewed it, this just did not sit well on me. I'm 5'3, but very petite and with a small torso, so the bag looked big on me from the start. That would be ok if it was comfy, but this just does not distribute heavy weight well on a small torso--my shoulder ached on and off the bike. And I'm not talking really heavy weight or anything, just some combo of iPad/13" Laptop/DSLR/small things and never all of those at once. I got the Mini-Metro because the Chrome Dually Backpack was making my back sweat on the bike, but now I whole heartedly recommend the Dually over the Mini-metro for tiny people that carry just a tad more than a tiny load. I guess I should go over to that page and give it 5 stars now!
4/25/11 by Mikey
I love this bag! It's like Momma Citizen and Daddy Metropolis created a small love child for me to carry around on my back. It's adorable! It fits comfortably and carries a large load for such a little bag. If you're planning a good little day trip it's perfect. it'll store everything you need and then some.

I got this bag about 7 years ago. It is in amazing shape. I use it to walk to the store, on my bike and on trips. It's the only day-bag I used when in Europe walking around...NYC too. I was surprised by how many cool interior pockets it has and the quality of the bag is amazing. It's got a nice industrial alternative vibe going for women like me who aren't into ultra feminine bags. This bag was worth every penny. I bought it in camo'. I'm visiting the site to get it in a different color. My lucky brother will inherit my band new condition, after a lot of use, camo' mini.

Got this bag over the summer, and still love it. I can easily fit my 13' Macbook pro inside, and don't have to worry about it when it rains. Holds a surprising amount of stuff, and has a ton of hidden pockets. Love this bag.

I've had this bag for about five or six months now and it's great, i am a constant commuter going from home, to school, to work. My bag carries my clothing, my text-books, and even my laptop, all at the same time. For a small bag its pretty cool and in one word, it's hardcore, it withstands anything I put it threw specially rain, which is a big thing in L.A. right now. I've had no problems with it, it's clean to ride with, it doesn't get in the way, it has a nice design, and it's perfect when you need to look back at cars, because the shoulder pad does not block your view.
3/22/11 by Saaal
The bag is good. It carries a lot and is very durable, but it's time for me to get a bigger bag. Thanks!
3/15/11 by Pete
I wanted to like this bag, but I can't. It's not padded so when you stick stuff in it, that stuff it pokes you in the back. The weight displacement is horrible, I'm in pain every time I put the bag on. I love the design but it's just not the bag for me. I'm returning it and hoping to get a Chrome backpack instead.

I've had this bag for a good 6 years and it is indestructible. Great Bag Great Company

Awesome bag, I picked it up to use for going back to college I got the mini metro thinking it would be the right size for a couple of text books and a notebook. I am larger size guy at 6’3” so when loaded down the buckle sits up way high on my collar bone which is not comfortable. I have since ordered the Metropolis. I will continue to use the Mini Metro for my gym bag, going to bike polo, or a water bottle holder for my MTB endurance races. Great bag thanks again I know I will love the Metropolis!

Maybe I still am in the "Breaking it in" stage, but to be honest, Not sure I see all the hullabaloo. This bag is wonderfully constructed, but awkward as hell. Its heavy with nothing in it, and the seatbelt buckle FLYS off you when you release it, and just so we are clear, 2 hunks of metal flinging from either side of you is not fantastic if your about to throw it in your car or taking it off indoors (near glass)
No, timbuk2 is no rival, but the entirety of the design could be so much smoother.
Style over function? maybe for most people, but I have things to do :/

Thoughtful design, wonderful construction, high quality materials...these are the foundation for this handsome product. Just might be the last bag that I will have to buy...sooo worth the expense! Mini Metro, simply put, is the perfect bag.

=^^= It looks attractive, and the design shows a lot of promise. And hell does my Mini Metro promise. I recently went to a 5-day trip to Florida, and my little pack was able to carry 5 days worth of clothes and underwear. I was also able to fit in a couple of gifts for my aunt and cousins. The Mini Metro didn't cause any sort of discomfort when I took it to the airport. And I felt safe to push it in line while it was on the floor, because I knew the outer shell, and the heavy duty construction that it has would most definitely NOT rip, break or wear, while it was there.
So...if your looking for a little bag capable of big big things, get the Mini Metro. =)

Of course, there's no such thing as the perfect bag, as different situations call for different features, but after spending 4+ months with my Mini-Metro I'm of the opinion that this is as close to perfect as it gets for an everyday bag.
I'm one of those guys who finds himself drawn to the bags rather than the clothes when shopping in the mall…something of a bag connoisseur, you could say. In high school I carried a backpack everywhere, but by the time I got to college in 1998 I started to prefer messenger bags. Pretty soon I found myself updating bags regularly; it was rare that I even use a bag for more than a few months.
To make a long story short, I discovered timbuk2 bags in early 2007, and while I liked some of their products (mainly their now-discontinued Single Speed line), there was still something missing. A friend of mine showed me his Chrome Metropolis bag at some point, but its massive size turned me off (I'm a pretty small guy, and I don't need that kind of capacity). I tried BaileyWorks, which are better than timbuk2, but still was not completely satisfied.
Finally in May 2010, I saw another friend using a Chrome Corsair (much smaller than the Metropolis) and I decided to get one for myself. I loved it so much, within three months I had ordered a Mini-Metro for some extra room and the fantastic shoulder strap.
These bags are incredible. I really wish I'd discovered them sooner. People all over the web love to rave about bags being "bombproof," but these are the first bags that I've seen that could believably live up to that claim.
The capacity of these bags is deceptive. The Mini Metro is described as "Small," but I've taken two 4-day trips using it as my only bag—no checked luggage, JUST my Mini Metro. Admittedly, I pack light, but it's still impressive.
And it's SO COMFORTABLE! The shoulder strap is unlike any other I've ever used. Somehow it manages to distribute the weight in a way that makes the load seem lighter.
I'm really glad I've switched to Chrome, if only because I can finally stop searching!

Since i got it nearly 3 years ago. On a scooter, to Italy, hiking here in Washington. Oh, and in a lot of rain too. Everything stays dry, travels beautifully, holds a lot.

I dont think so my friend. I'm a college student and Im a short dude (5'5"). I have a lot of books/clothes to carry and I commute to school on my bike everyday. I was really concerned about the size because I didn't know exactly how "mini" the mini-metro was going to be. I knew that I needed a lot of room but not too much room because I would just end up having a big empty bag. I got to try it out at a local bike shop and I ordered one as soon as I tried it on. The mini-metro is perfect for anyone of any size in my opinion. The money paid for it is well worth it because of its durability. This is hands down the best bag I have ever owned. A couple fat textbooks and notebooks plus some clothes, and I STILL have room for more.

this bag is greeat, i got a timbuk2 bag and i used it for while but it was uncomfortable to ride my bike with. i ended up getting a chrome bag from a friend of mine and it has worked out great. the padding is way better the other bags i have had and it still has plenty of room in it, i never get lost in the all the pockets like i did with the timbuk2 bag. at first i wasw worried about if it would be to small but i used my bag for school everyday since i got it and it fits several 3 ring binders my lunch with room to spare.

In a nutshell, it's worth investment. I've been using it for a month, yes, not that long, but long enough that I can say it's worth the money. I've used it for work, carrying laptop, iPod, iPhone, etc. I got 2nd thoughts about using it on the rain while my gadgets are inside, but hey, I tried, and woop! Not a single drop of water got in. Buy yours now :]

This bag is perfect i can hold all my gear from a laptop to a pair of shoes. While most people getting this bag are riding bicycles.. i ride a kawasaki Z1000. its perfect for motorcycles too!!

It came time to replace my messenger bag, and after having seen several friends toting Chrome's bags around, I decided to give it a shot. The Mini-Metro seemed better for my day to day needs than the Citizen, and after wearing it around a little I'm still pretty well pleased with the decision. It's extremely comfortable, and looks good despite my being 6'0".
I'll agree that for long hauls or trips, this might not do the trick. But for someone who gets around regularly in a downtown area, and likes having his laptop and a few books readily accessible, this is *the* bag. I love it.

For a "mini", this bag is a beast. I can easily fit a 12-pack of beer and a jacket in it, the reflective strips light up like a christmas tree, and the comfort is unbeatable. The pride Chrome takes in their crafts(person)ship is plain to see. I never go anywhere without this bag!

This bag is perfect for daily tasks and feels good on the fit.
Just made the switch from a Timbuk2 bag which I found to move too much and be uncomfortable.
Love that this bag has the right shoulder option, as i ride like a left hander apparently. Makes easier for adjusting straps and what not.
I definitely feel like I can go on some serious missions and kick some butt on the streets with this. Purely utilitarian and industrial. LOVE.

Even before I'd ever handled a CHROME bag I even knew I wanted one for my birthday. I now feel like I'm authorized to ride on my bike every day. It's sturdy, and although I haven't gotten to put it to good use yet it seems like I can do a lot. Looks great on my 'scrawny' frame and I imagine great for higschool. A lot bigger than it actually is. Great!

I've had my mini metro for almost 3 years now and I don't know what I would do without it!! I ride my bike everywhere in all seasons and this bag is perfect. I'm a pretty small girl, about 5'3" so the size works well, I can fit everything I need for class as anything else I need for the day. Incredibly sturdy, still shows minimal signs of wear after all this time. I would recommend it to anyone!!

So I purchased this bag last winter while living in Chicago. I tend to be a little bit of everywhere for work-- in important meetings, out canvassing neighborhoods and jogging all over the city-- so I wanted something waterproof and durable but that wouldn't look either really ugly or really childish and wanted to move away from having a book bag since that tends to look like something from college. Since I also go on short trips, usually for the weekend, for both work and fun I wanted something that could hold my laptop, a book, a notebook and some clothes without carrying a suitcase on my back (I'm 5'2"). After reading the great reviews for this bag about it being waterproof, roomy and durable, I decided to splurge and get the mini metro in red and black. I'm totally tightfisted with money but figured that it sounded like a wise investment.
Boy, does this bag not disappoint. This bag literally goes everywhere with me-- it's practically an extension of my body at this point. It comfortably distributes weight across your shoulder and back so your shoulder isn't aching after a while as usually happens with traditional messenger bags. The stability strap is great for biking and the size means that I don't look like I'm being engulfed by my bag. I've walked miles in downpours with it and nothing inside got even damp. It's the perfect size for weekend traveling or running to the grocery store for a week's worth of food.
It's still clean cut enough to wear to work, even when going to important meetings and looks pretty fine with a suit. It even looked great with my wedding dress when I got married this fall. Yes, that's right-- it even held all the things I needed for my wedding day-- programs, an extra pair of shoes, make up, sun screen, other extra necessities. Our photographer thought it was hilarious and even snapped a few pictures of me with my bag in my dress.
You name it and this bag does it. It even served as a great day pack while in Costa Rica for a week and the straps and velcro mean that it's super secure in any urban environment. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone who wants an all purpose bag. I'll warn you though, it will start becoming an extension of your life pretty quickly.

I'm 5'4 and the mini is the perfect size for me. It's huge, but it doesn't look like I'm carrying a cabinet on my back.
I usually take an extra pair of clothes for the gym, notepad/books for class, lunch, a water bottle, and other little things for everyday. Everything fits with room to spare, but placement is important otherwise it feel weird and lopsided against my back. I can't just shove things in there.
I have the mini metro in purple/black with the black buckle. I'd prefer the silver buckle. No biggie, though. I give it four stars because I wish there was a stash pocket on the mini.

I never really had a backpack that worked perfectly for me until I got the mini metro. This bag can hold everything I want, and if there isn't room left on the inside it's no big deal to strap it under the flap. My friends think that it was silly to spend so much on a backpack, but they can still see that it is one hell of a good bag. One big plus about this bag is that it takes up much less room on your back than regular packs and doesn't move around at all if you have it on right. The only problem is that sometimes my friends try to press the buckle to make it fall.

I just purchased this bag less than 5 hours ago here in Seoul, Korea from my friend's bike shop. I haven't had a chance to use it, but I'm preparing to use it soon, as I would like to ride my bike to work (even though fall is here). The weather outside is just simply beautiful these days. Though I haven't use this bag at all yet, feeling the texture (durable feeling) and construction definitely gets 4.5 stars; the other half star will be given once I use it.

I received this bag as a gift last holiday season. I asked for the medium citizen and this was what I unwrapped instead. It's eight months later and I am just discovering that I have really owned the mini metro the entire time! It's difficult to tell online the actual size of the bag, so I have been under the impression that I have been lugging around the medium. A friend of mine just bought the medium and it was pretty obvious that mine was the smaller of the two.
WIth that said, I'm not interested in purchasing the medium. The mini is absolutely the perfect size. I've easily fit 12 packs, books and laptop, a weeks worth of groceries, a weekend's worth of clothes, and sport climbing equipment in this bag. Probably the best bag out there (in terms of durability and price) for biking and/or hauling shit across campus. Word from the wise: Guard your buckle when there's a 12 pack of coors glass bottles inside!

I'm a big dude in terms of height (6'2") and this is a great bag for me... All I need is my laptop and a few other things stored in there and it's perfect for that. The only thing that could possibly make this bag better is maybe a little handle or something like that on the top when you're not running it over the shoulder.

I really liked this bag, super durable and you can pack a lot of stuff! Very good for biking around town for errands or even to school!

Although the smallest of the family, THIS BAG IS PERFECT. It has permanently replaced my purse, and I am amazed at it's storage abilities. From groceries, schjool work, or shopping sprees, thig bag holds it all. Good job on this on this one guys.

The term mini is deceptively charming, but inaccurate. This bag can haul! I can fit everything my little 5'3" frame desires. Also, I look so damn cool.

I have the BLK-BLK-BLK model and I love it. Construction is great, the tarp liner definitely protects whatever is inside during rainy season here in the Philippines. Great for traveling too. Being their smallest of their messenger bags, don't expect to carry a lot (compared to the other models). Also using a clipboard as a base to even out the pressure when wearing the bag helps (instead of having your things inside protrude out and poke your back as you wear it).

This bag has been great for me. I rode my bike a couple miles to work every day and when you have to change into different closes, this bag was just the right size. Worth the $120 for sure
9/2/10 by Maxime
I have it since 6 month and it's perfect for commuting. I can put my rain jacket, computer, books and everythig I need for my working day. There is enough pockets to organise little stuffs like pens, keys and bike lights. No problem with rain, it's really waterproof.
The only complain is that the bag is pretty heavy, but I know why...it's just solid!
9/2/10 by Johnny F
This bag is perfect. I can fit everything I need for a day on campus in it. Water bottles, change of clothes, ulock and cable, notebooks and more. Perfect sized bag for me :)
P.s. a six pack and a couple forties fit fine in here

The Facts:
- I am a university student at an institution of 30,000. We are a small city.
- Said small city is surrounded by farms.
- I commute into said small city from the rural area by bicycle every day.
- Every day i carry my Mini Metro.
- It likes to rain here.
That said, this bag is fantastic for what I do. It is waterproof enough that I can get through a downpour and not have to worry about my notes getting soaked. (The first day I had it my water bottle leaked, which created the opposite problem, but that's just a testament to how waterproof the liner is.) This bag can fit everything I need, including my laptop and work shirt, despite it being the smallest in the line. The buckle on the strap makes it easy to take off, especially if you're carrying a large box and someone wants to give you a hand by taking your bag.
So, if you're sitting on the fence about it, stop.
Take a deep breath.
And do it.
You won't regret it.

My Mini Metro is still awesome after all these years of having it. (five yrs, I think) I use it to carry all my work related and non related items. I hate getting my stuff wet, so I am very glad to have this bag. It was a unique color when I got it and havent see it on the site since, Black with Sky blue stripe. I love my bag so much. I and some of family are very proud of our Chrome Bags(only a few of use have Chrome Bags) and I will still continue to use and buy more Chrome bags!

The chrome mini metro is probably one of the best purchases I've made in the past four years. I'm a college student, I have two jobs, and I'm incredibly rough on my things. Between me and my schedule, my beefy science textbooks, computer, camera gear, soccer cleats and more, I'm surprised I've ever made any other bag survive past six months. I use my Mini Metro for everything. O
Its small enough for my 5'5" build but big enough when I need it to be. From the underground tubes of London this summer to the rainy streets of Portland and it's suburbs everyday, I can count on my Mini Metro to get me and my stuff there without a hitch. On my bike and on foot, this bag's durable construction, failsafe buckle strap, waterproof lining, and the stabilization strap, I know I can I conquer my day with it's help every day.

my original concern was that this bag would be too small for my needs and i would have to return it, but my concern was addressed perfectly. it has plenty of space for anything i might bring along on or acquire on my average commute and the size helps keep you from carrying too much weight which easily puts stress on your shoulder with the single strap design. though my shoulder often is sore after extended rides, it's a small discomfort. i find the quick release clasp much more useful than the buckle, especially when carrying ever changing loads, very easy to adjust to body type and whatever is being carried.
great product, i would recommend any Chrome product i've come across.

I got a Metropolis a little over a year ago and quickly realized that the bag was great for most days but a little uncomfortable to wear when I only had a very light load. To that end I recently purchased a mini-metro. I typically use it for days when I am only carrying a few items--just paperwork and my wallet, or just my laptop. It is comfortable to wear even when packed densely, and way more functional than a non-waterproof purse in the city I live in (which has very unpredictable weather). I recommend going to the SF or NY stores to pick yours up if you have the option because they sometimes have some incredible and unusual color combinations!

The mini-metro (I have the camo one) is not the first messenger bag I've owned but certainly one of the best. Everything about the bag is rocksolid and I'm absolutely loving the buckle system. The fast-strap works very well but when you don't have a lot in your bag it gets really long, so I'm finding myself making a knot out of it sometimes.
I use it everyday for getting groceries and running errands etc, and my macbook pro 13" fits snugly, but there's not a lot of space left.
9/2/10 by Monika
This is a great bag, and can hold a lot of stuff (13" MacBook, iPad, iPhone, camera and all cords + more) and while it is a heavy bag to begin with, it is not too uncomfortable to wear. I felt like it gave me better posture when wearing it, but the buckle just did not sit well on me. I tried really hard to like this bag, but I just couldn't get into it, so I had to return it last week.
Maybe in the future I will purchase a bag from you again and it will turn out better.

I was looking for a new bag to use on my six mile ride to work. So I dragged myself down to the SF store for the anniversary sale and picked up one of these babies in red and blue. I was paradoxically worried that it would be too big (I'm only 5'2") and too small (not enough to carry all my gear), but it's just right. I can comfortably haul a change of clothes, my lunch, u-lock, and all the little things (plus a six-pack, probably) through the park, the panhandle, the wiggle, all the way to north beach!
9/2/10 by Josh Thomas
I do a 30 mile a day bike commute to work with a laptop. The Chrome bag works so much better for me than an old school backpack. I can look over my should and actually see traffic, the strap is wide and doesn't dig into my shoulder and I can finally ride in the rain. Thing is super hip to boot.

try making a dark-blue bag with red buckle
