Capacity, with a Twist

I purchased this backpack a little over a month ago with the intent of using it for school. I understand that the pack is not necessarily intended for such uses (carrying small items like pens and pencils, papers, books), and this review is written accordingly.
Nonetheless, this has been a fantastic bag. It holds absolutely everything I need it to (I have had it called a "portable desk" by friends before) and still has room for more. Were I to need to carry an extra wheelset (which I may have to do as the weather gets warmer) I would be able to do so easily without disrupting the other items in the bag or removing them.
Of course, this is the bag's purpose, not school use. Thus I have more than once had items fall out of the bags more or less open sides (though they do close relatively well), but these have been mostly to the fault of my own, and never during a ride. This bag is not great for carrying things such as pencils, as I have said, but it does very well with books (smaller books in the shoe pockets in the back fold; larger books go in the zip pocket or the main open area of the bag) and can even work to carry papers and other business items (a laptop, per se) in the large zip pocket in the middle fold.
The real trick with this backpack is making sure that your stuff is well stowed and not loose. As with all Chrome equipment, the build quality is excellent and the bag feels very durable. It should be noted that the folds of the bag do not hold up as well as the picture might suggest--not being made of wood they do not remain as straight as boards during use, and the backpack may appear relatively misshapen in comparison to the images. However, this only helps to serve the comfort of the bag.
In conclusion, while it may appear as if this bag is very open and not suited for everyday use, such is not the case if you are able to use the bag correctly and are willing to take a bit of time to organise it. Whether you're carrying a wheelset for a race or your books to school, this backpack has all of the room you'll need and more. And while the creative tri-fold system may take a bit of a time to get used to, it is just one part of many which makes this bag excellent.

This bag is truly unique, the first of it's kind. Sometimes life doesn't fit into The Citizen. Like your life, the Sherman is boundless.
