They don't seem to wear.

I've had these for about 6 months now, and they still look brand new - no wear on the soles or the uppers that I can see. They are comfortable, look good and are priced right.
The only change I would make would be higher friction laces - they seem to come untied more than other shoes in the stable.
great shoe

comfortable and stylish baby
Great look, but some serious build and service issues.

I really loved these shoes from the first time I put them on and rode out of the shop.
That said, within a few months the plastic reinforcement in the heel cup started to crumble and fall apart, creating the feeling and aggravation of a small pebble stuck in your heel that you can't get out. Not great in a shoe intended for cycling.
Eventually pieces of the plastic started to cut through the material in the back of the heel and fall out into the shoe itself. At this point I had only owned them for 6 months or so, and I took them into the shop in SoHo where I bought them. I showed a manager the issues, and he said he'd have to check with corporate to see if the deterioration would be covered.
He called me back a few days later to let me know that the heel isn't covered by the warranty, even though it had basically started to fall apart with only moderate wear. I was disappointed by that, but continued to wear them. It's been about a year now, and the plastic has half fallen out, the leather on the back of one heel has finger sized hole in it, and the support in the heel is pretty shot.
The rest of the shoe still looks good and is in pretty good shape, so it seems oddly convient that the heel isn't covered - the one place on the shoe that's been trouble from the start. Seems like a manufacturers defect to me.
Especially with the price and reputation of Chrome quality, I've been extremely disappointed. I love the look, the initial fit, and most parts of the build, but the heel troubles have been a deal breaker for me and other it seems. I'd stay away from these if I was you.
Beautifully uncomfortable....

Probably the most beautiful daily shoe design I've ever own, the colors, material and overall look is awesome... but this thing is unusable! Is incredibly uncomfortable to wear. The internal sole shapes are uneven and creates painful pressure points in your feet. For the price paid is completely absurd...
Plastic does not hold up
8/30/11 by Richie
I bought these shoes recently and immediately fell in love with the design and functionality while receiving many a compliment on how they looked. However, within two weeks of owning this product the plastic in the heel cap has crumbled and started to poke through the inside of the shoe and rub against the back of my foot as I walk. As you can imagine this is rather uncomfortable.
As a whole this shoe is great. From the slick design that slips right into my cage to the reinforced sole that has so-far held up and made my ride more comfortable. If Chrome is able to fix the defect with the plastic I might give the shoe a second chance.
eeehhhhh

it took me a long time to decide to get these. and i am rather dissapointed. the sole is not holding up very well kinda just crumbling, the laces are reallyu thin so they tear easy. the tops hold up amazingly i have covered themin dirt droped thing on them aqnd the tops still look brand new. sooo i think i am going to try the pros.
Not that great for the price

I bought these expecting a long lasting biking shoe with clips and straps. All the reviews made me believe these were durable. My sole transportation is by bike and I ride over 100 a week. First off the plastic on the inside of the heel crumbles and cuts through the material, causing little bits of plastic to fall into your shoe along with small clumps of plastic gathering all over the inside of the fabric with no way of getting them out without cutting the material open. Secondly I use clips and straps and there has been a whole worn through the top of my right shoe and starting to wear through on the left one. I've only had these for about 8 months and am not impressed especially for the price. The good is that the sole is thick reducing pedal poke. The plus is they look very nice, fashion over function I guess. PS. I wear a size 12 normally and these felt a bit too large, so I would suggest ordering a 1/2-1 size smaller.
Not good for winter/spring

I got these around Christmas and I just want everyone to know that these shoes DO NOT LIKE WATER. Also if you happen to take off your shoes by using one shoe to hold down the other while taking it off the back will fray like it did for me. I would recommend these but only during the summer/fall seasons. Classy shoes but you want to keep them looking nice.
Nice shoe that makes your feet look like a clown shoes.

Ok, this shoe is really comfortable and I mean it. My beef comes in the shape which is long and bozo like. I got a size 7 (the smallest and it still makes my feet look huge!). In case you didn't know I'm a lady and ladies like petite things. I must say though I think these shoes rock for cycling. Comfortable, nice grips and relatively light weight. I wouldn't get gray if you have cages because it's leaving a white imprint on the shoe. Also, ok I know and this is it, the laces got caught in my crank on the first ride with them pulling off the metal decal and if I weren't an awesome rider I would have smashed into a car. So, if this happens -- don't panic let it loop. Tuck in the laces (fully)!
Dresden Clandestine Chrome
9/17/10 by P. E.
I walk around most of the day on New York City sidewalks (like most New Yorkers), which is like using an electric sander on the bottom of your shoes. Two words: Pencil eraser. However, Chrome soles pass the all-day, gritty cement test. These things last forever, and even manage to keep their non-slip grooves.
There is a stigma (at least in Manhattan and Brooklyn) attached to wearing Chrome gear. Hipsters and messengers feel you are threatening their patent on low-laced shoes, canned beer and, um, bicycles. However, the subtle, low-key Dresden design will help you vanish off of the hipster radar. There is no bright red line in the front, the laces are further up and it's just really hard to tell they are Chromes. Mission accomplished. Now you get to keep the functionality of the sturdy, everlasting soles without being glared at for walking down the street. If you walk, are on a low-budget (can't afford boots) and are interested in city sole survival, the Dresden is for you. Also, the Dresden design (unlike the midway and kursk) doesn't need any breaking in. Don't forget to waterproof.
