After wearing these shoes for a solid six months through a Chicago winter, these shoes are the real deal! I have no problems working a full work shift, riding 15+ miles to a show, and ending up running around in a basement mosh-pit near you. I tend to wear these shoes more often than my "non-pro" shoes due to the fact I bike to all of my destinations, and there is no real reason to carry around multiple shoes. The foot rocker ensures full power transfer to my egg beaters, smooth stride on the street, and helps to eliminate tap dancing with my cleat. Personally, I have had NO problems with "heel slip" or "achilles rub" on the back of the foot, but I would encourage you to try them on in real life and get the perfect fit. Once you do, there is no going back!

Been wearing this for the last three days. Pretty comfy except for one pressure point, at the top of the interior lace grommets. That lip digs into my ankles a little bit but this is most likely just a break in issue.
First day I didn't have my cleats installed and i wasn't really used to the shank in the sole, so I walked a little funny. Second day I installed the cleats and rode to work (bout 5 miles to a bike shop) and worked the rest fo the 9hr day in them. On my feet all day my feet were not any more sore than if I had been in dunks all day.
The only times that I get clicking with my SPD sm-sh51 cleats is if im on rough cement or pavement, or climbing stairs quickly.
Overall im super happy with these shoes. I usually wear a 9.5 but because my feet are kinda wide I got the 9's. My toes have a bit of room but I like that better for riding anyways. and the width is good. Theres a small amount of heel slippage but no more than in my shimano road shoes, so really nothing to be worried about.

After having my Berlin Pro for almost a year I decided to invest in a pair of these bad boys. I loved the video of messengers in NYC using them and wanted something less conspicuous than my cheapo Sette MTB SPD clipless shoes that are falling apart due to heal slip wear. I must say I loved these from day one. I was a bit nervous about sizing so I tried them on before I removed the rubber patch and they were a bit narrow, but the length was perfect. After about five days of riding in them for a minimum of 4 miles per day they were broken in and fit even better. I normally wear a 12 so I ordered as such. I have a wider foot and they fit fine. My only complaint is that they are a little warm on days 70 and above on longer rides 20-40miles. There are spots (1-2) where heat is trapped and cannot escape. I am considering buying a pair of performance road shoes for longer rides on super hot days coming up 80-90 degree days. Other than that these shoes rock. They are so casual that I have had many people ask if they are even cycling shoes because normally I would wear a MTB or roadie shoe and this is quite a departure from the normal three strap velcro riding shoe. The cleats rarely scrape, but are a little less firm in the pedals than they were originally. They are comfortable on and off the bike for hours. The only time I found irritation is after a long ride or towards mile 30 on a hot day. I would say order a larger size if you are VERY worried about your feet being pinched, although I am not sure if they are that much wider per each size larger. You might sacrifice more and increase heal slip/toe slam if you size up. Meaning that if you order a size larger than you normally would wear you might wear out the heal quicker because your heal will slip more often than not and/or you might increase your chances of slamming your toes during each revolution which will bruise/blister your toes even after breaking in the shoe especially during hot/humid conditions. Just a thought. Buy these shoes if you want something that you can wear on and off the bike and not look like the obnoxious guy who wants to tell you about his commuting stats even when you didn't ask.

though these shoes are real pain initially, they are comfortable yet sturdy once they are properly broken in. the soles are actually a bit stiffer than most touring shoes that are out there, which is a good thing. the stiffness lends itself to fewer "hot spots" so overall are more comfortable. definitely go for a half size shorter than normal and they do run wide, so don't expect a SIDI fit. i did notice that the mounts for the cleats were installed differently on each shoe which, at the end of the day, makes little to no difference in foot position on the pedal, but i assume it was a factory screw up. speaking of cleats, there is little no no "cleat strike" when walking in them (and i wore them through a full bartending shift with no foot fatigue). so yeah, i think these are great shoes...let's see what happens when chicago winter hits...

These shoes are awesome. I've been riding them for about a month, and they are holding up really. I had the kursk regular before, and was moderately impressed with them. The cleat isn't too loud, the sole is a good stiffness, and everything is holding up well. Nice job chrome.

Got mine off the web and it was a 9 and I wear a 9.5 or 10 but read these fit big and took a chance and they fit perfect- nice and snug for riding. They are a little warm compared to regular cycling kicks, but walking is way cushier with a little heal slip but not while riding. I was pleasantly surprised with their performance being nice and stiff. A tad heavy but again these are a hybrid shoe. I now can feel free to dress normal , put these on and go for a casual ride and do non bike things w/o feeling dorky. They really have pened up more riding options by allowing me to just go and not have to go cycling specific. Love em.

I have been unsurprised by the midway pro: meaning I got what I expected from another excellent product in the Chrome line.
As a messenger I demand a lot from my shoes. They need to be durable (check) they need to be comfortable (check) and they need to be able to perform off the bike as well as on it (check). I spend a lot of time peddling, and the midway pro is stiff in the saddle, giving me just the amount of power transfer I need. But they also make it to easy walk around when I'm picking up and delivering packages (my crank bros cleats dont click or clack when on the move).
After four or five months of fifty or sixty miles daily in the saddle, through a harsh winter of snow and rain, my midway pro's are still performing.
They only things to look out for are these: the shoes dont form to your foot the way a racing shoe made out of leather (or a composite) might. They are susceptible to water logging, as the cordura and leather uppers aren't water resistant or ultra breathable. And finally, the footbeds simply didn't work for me. I had to upgrade to some "designer" footbeds.
But the important thing to take away is this: if you have a problem with these things, these shoes weren't designed for you.
Thanks again Chrome!

so I debated, I gave it a try. the worst that could happen is I'd return the shoe or I'd keep the shoe.. I'm keeping the shoe! it's stiff, comfortable, it's a warm shoe this morning despite 30 deg. not including the southeast blowing freezing wind... no numbness. like most reviewers they do run a halfsize large... so take it down a half size than usual. My store experience was made even better by the help of Lendsie/y ??? not sure if it's even her name let alone how to spell it...I failed spelling most of my life, I'm terrible at that but she use to work at westown bike shop. maybe I'm just re****ed or something but unlike my road and mtn cycling shoes I did have this uncontrollable involuntary habit of curling my toes when out of the saddle climbing... I don't do that when wearing road shoe.. maybe that's the answer itself..IDK. but I'm a fan of these shoes!

ive been wearing these for about 3 weeks now, and im very pleased. i bought them as my back up winter shoe for work, and they have quickly become my main shoe. extremely comfortable, easy to walk in, with a nice stiff sole, which feels stiffer than my sidi dominators. these have also kept my feet pretty warm so far this winter.
i highly recommend!

Just got these to replace some warm-weather clipless shoes. You still get a little cleat scratching on the ground when walking, despite the recess, but that's to be expected. So far I've had no trouble popping in and out, and the cleat platform is really solid inside the shoe. They're warm and breathable in cooler weather and the inside didn't get wet in light rain. I'll probably treat them with a waterproofer just to be safe, but they seem like they'll be great winter riding shoes.

I was looking around to get a pair of SPD shoes and tried these on, fit perfectly at a 10 (normally a 10.5) I've never worn cleats before and I tried them on for the ride home from the store and it was amazing. These cleats make my ride to class or work better and I'll even catch myself wearing them when I'm not on a bike that day. High Five, slam dunk, whatever you call it these shoes win.

I had a issue with the kursh pro called up chrome and I must say they are some of the nicest most laid back, do whatever to mmake it right. They went way above and beyond in my opinion. Hell, that alone is worth the price of the shoes along with there quality. A Buyer for life!!!!

Just put my egg beater cleats into my black and gold interbike special Midway pro's and went for a ride and i couldn't be happier. Spent a couple hours in the saddle, and a couple hours in the bar and was comfy all the way. Can't wait to break them in further, its can only get better!
Thanks for another home run chrome!

Love the look of these shoes and are sturdy construction but, getting major blisters in the heel area.

I have had them for about a week now. I feel like the regular Midways, these are going to need to be broken in before they are regularly comfortable (but they are not uncomfortable now). My SPD cleats extend out past the sole a bit, so i am constantly clicking when I walk. If they break-in like my non-pro Midways, these will be a 5 star!
